AG I Blizzard Bag #2

Blizzard Bag II

Welcome to Blizzard Bag II. If you are reading this then you are missing a second day of school due to Mother Natures generosity.
For today's Blizzard Bag, you will locate an article that is in some way related to Agriculture. You can use an article from print (magazine, news paper, etc...), or you may locate an article using an on-line source.

There are many points of view on Agricultural practices these days, and with all of the media that is readily available, information is passed quickly. Due to this fact, misinformation is passed as quickly, if not faster than, factual information. Many of the articles we read are written to sway our opinion of a topic or subject, or to pass misinformation on to the pubic to further someone's cause.
The purpose of this exercise is to allow you to read an article, about an Agriculturally related topic, to determine the author's intent. After reading this article, I want you to take a moment to reflect, not only, on what the article or story was about, but also, the author's purpose for writing it.

Open a Google doc, or on a piece of lined paper, put your name, and the date, in the upper left hand corner of your document.

Next, you need to source your article so I can locate it. Skip 2 lines below your Name and the Date, and on the next line begin listing the source information on your article. Be sure to include any of the following that are applicable:
Name of Publication
Name of article
Page Number
Author
If it is an online source, be sure to copy and paste the URL as a link in your document.
If you happened to use a magazine from home, please bring it into school so I can make a photo copy for reference to the article.

For the Body of your assignment, you will summarize the article that you read. What is the article about? Why did the author write the article? What is the Author's perspective on the topic? What was the purpose behind the article? Be sure to include the topic that the article is written about, what point the author is trying to make - what is the author's perspective on the topic?
